Job Description
Position is Full Time, Night Shift working 3 shifts 7:00pm - 7:30am at Northwest Medical Center Women's Center.
Team oriented postpartum and well newborn unit caring for new mothers and their infants as couplets. We are a patient oriented facility that promotes growth with opportunities to implement evidence based care and a robust unit based council.
This position requires staff to work throughout the Women's Center facility that will enhance individual nursing skills in the many realms of OB and newborn care.
The Northwest Medical Center, Women's Center 24 bed Post partum unit is looking for a caring, compassionate and experienced professional RN to care for mother and baby.
The successful candidate will effectively interact with patient and significant others. Mother-Baby Nurses educate and assist new mothers with physical and emotional needs during the post partum period in the hospital using the Nursing process.
This is a position that will require floating to NICU/ feeder grower and labor and delivery recovery.
Evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care. Assists physicians during examinations and procedures. Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse. Promotes patients' independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.
Position Qualifications/Minimum Requirements
Education:
ADN or Diploma in Nursing Program, BSN preferred
Experience:
Clinical experience in area of expertise preferred.
Licenses/Certifications:
Required:
Current Arizona RN license or compact state license
BLS certification card (CPR)- American Heart Association
