NEW HIRE HOURLY RATE: $30/hr - $35/hr - please note that this role is part-time, working approximately 18 hrs/week

POSITION SUMMARY: The NCC position facilitates the medication management requirement in the Supported Employment Demonstration (SED). The medication management requirement aims to provide participants randomized to the Full-Service arm of the study with evidence-based medication decisions that will improve overall functioning and enhance their employment potential. The NCC will conduct ongoing individual status assessments with each Full-Service participant and actively collaborate with clinical team members and the participants prescriber.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Help ensure that nursing standards of accuracy, quality, and efficiency are met.

  • Provide psychological evaluations/problem identification, medical case management and crisis interventions.
  • Assist those we serve with psychological, social development and rehabilitation.
  • Coordinate medical care and intervention with staff and psychiatrist.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical records consistent with MHCD standards.
  • Participate in team meetings, in-services, and supervisory sessions as required.
  • Maintain a trauma informed environment of wellbeing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Nursing and in coordination with Program Managers.

EDUCATION: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Colorado. License must be in good standing.

EXPERIENCE: 3+ years of nursing experience working with individuals with serious and persistent mental illness. Some supervisory, coordination, or managerial experience preferred.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Knowledge or ability to learn and practice trauma informed principles and practices.
  • Ability to lead, manage and delegate, problem-solve, and set priorities.
  • Theoretical and working knowledge of psychotropic medications.
  • Working knowledge of laboratory test results.
  • Ability to assess crises situations and intervene appropriately.
  • Familiarity with DSM IV and diagnostic techniques.
  • Effective written and verbal communications skills with staff and those we serve.
  • Effective use of computer technology.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness.
  • Comfortable acting as a participants advocate in coordinating interventions:
    • Interacting with the prescriber and participant concerning medication management
    • Working with the treatment team

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: N/A

MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT TO BE USED: Computers, calculators, fax machines, copiers, telephone and a variety of other office/clerical equipment.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires sitting, standing, bending and reaching. May require lifting up to 50 pounds. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, the telephone and other office and/or clinical equipment.

WORKING CONDITIONS: May require occasional evening or weekend hours.
