Job Summary:

The RN Trauma Program Specialist supports the optimal outcome for injured patients by coordinating key elements of the Trauma Process and Patient Safety Program which include patient care coordination, improvement of clinical process through active participation in the evaluation of patient care and the development and refinement of trauma care guidelines, protocols and trauma education and training.

Minimum Experience Requirements3 years recent hospital experience1 year RN experience in a critical care area (ICU or Emergency Department)Basic computer skillsMembership to a related professional organization preferred (Society of Trauma Nurses, Emergency Nurses Association, American Association of Critical Care Nurses), preferred

Education requirement:

HS Diploma/GED required

ASN/Nursing Diploma required

BSN preferred

License/Certifications required:

CO RN license required

BLS from the American Heart Association required

TNCC required upon hire or within one year of hire/transfer

Physical Requirements:

Sedentary work -(prolonged periods of sitting and exert up to 10lbs force occasionally)
