The Salvation Army In Las Vegas is hiring for a S.A.Y. Club Assistant/Driver. The Successful candidate for this position will have strong verbal communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with a diverse group of children, staff & community partners.

The Club Assistant/Driver for the S.A.Y. program will supervise children while the Salvation Army Youth (SAY) Club programs are in session. This position will plan the SAY Club menus, set up the dining area and prepare and serve meals and snacks for the program. This employee will maintain sanitary conditions of the kitchen and dining area and assist with ordering and pickup of food from various food sources including foodbanks. The SAY Assistant/Driver will also be responsible for transporting of SAY club participants.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of children, staff & community partners
  • 1-year experience working with children in a church setting
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Must pass a valid Nevada Driver License with a clean driving record and
  • Ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record Check
  • Must pass all required PTM classes/e-learning
  • First Aid & CPR certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and reach with hands and arms on a continuous basis. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to focus. The employee must have the ability to operate a telephone, desktop or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer, and to understand written information.
