Job Description
Schedule Specialist: $15.81/hr - $23.50/hr based on Collective Bargaining Agreement with 1199 SEIU

Under supervision of the Mammography and Ultrasound supervisor, the Mammography Scheduler is responsible for scheduling appointments from multiple resources in a professional and timely manner, scheduling call backs, scheduling biopsies, request and obtain authorizations for outside images, documentation, uploading images, greeting and checking in patients, communicating with staff and physicians and performs all other duties as directed
Key Responsibilities:
Welcomes and greets patients as they arrive to department
Answers telephone while maintaining a polite, consistent phone manner using proper telephone etiquette
Schedules patients and updates patient demographic by collecting detailed patient information including insurance information
MD orders -Obtaining and verifying medical necessity
Print and mail result and reminder letters
Maintain patient files and uploads new images as they become available
Demonstrates ability to coordinate patient care with other members of the health care team.
Willingly/Readily contributes to the team approach providing the best possible care and service.
Knowledge of insurance coverages for appropriateness of exams requested
Maintains patient confidentially
Protects health information by keeping secure at all times
Responsible for keeping the reception area clean and organized
Call and schedule all patients needing to return for additional views.
Education:
Prior medical office or hospital office experience
High school diploma or graduation equivalency degree (GED).
Qualifications:
Patient Scheduling -prefer Meditech experience
Medical terminology
Proficient in office procedures
Computer skills
Customer service
Time management
Organization
Flexible to work other hours or shifts as needed
