    Summary:

The SAC Program offers before and after school care at multiple BVSD schools. The BVSD program prides itself on providing quality care that is engaging, fun, and developmentally appropriate. Although our schedule is traditionally Monday through Friday and ranges from 2:15-6pm, we offer you the scheduling flexibility you need. As a SAC Substitute you will be a part of a high energy, collaborative and inclusive team with the opportunity for advancement.

    Responsibilities:
    -Assists students with daily school work.
    -Provide careful and effective supervision of children's activities
    -Assist in the planning and implementation of programming for children
    -Lead groups of children in a variety of activities
    -Carry out objectives developed for BVSD School Age Programs
    -Assist children in establishing and maintaining the standards of behavior as set by the program using proactive methods of guiding appropriate behavior and positive reinforcement strategies
    -Cooperate with other staff to create and maintain a harmonious social environment
    -Interact positively with parents and refer appropriate questions and concerns
    -Maintain a clean and safe physical environment
    -Report unsafe equipment or program supply concerns

    Qualifications:
    Required:
    -High School diploma or equivalent
    -Communicate (read, write, and speak) in English, must pass English component of interview process
    -Completed and submitted BVSD online application

    Preferred:
    -Four-year degree in education, recreation, human services, or related field. Non-related degrees are accepted with one year of full time work experience with school age children in a group setting (This is required for supervisor level)
    -Ability and the skill to exercise appropriate supervision and direction to children ages 5-12
    -Experience working with groups of 4 or more children
    -Demonstrate successful experience working with school age children or youth
    -Demonstrate successful experience in program design and implementation for children
    -Proven ability to work effectively in a team and guide and supervise adult staff
    -Effective verbal and written communication skills
    -Professional attitude regarding the childcare profession
    -Experience with special needs children
