School-Age In-Person K-8 Childcare Covid-19 Instructional Assistant

JOB GOAL
To support and provide in-person instructional assistance to K-12 students during Distance Learning. There may also be some translation for both oral and written communication. This job is temporary and will not be continued at the conclusion of the Pandemic. This position will not necessarily be at your current work site during distance learning.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must possess a High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.)
  • Must have completed at least two (2) years (60 semester hours) of study at an institution of higher education (attach transcript; 100 level coursework and above) or obtained an associates or higher degree.
  • Must be highly qualified or obtained a passing score on an ADE-approved assessment (attach score report)

  • Demonstrates knowledge of reading, writing and mathematical skills
  • Must have effective communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with students, co-workers, supervisors, parents and the general public, etc. to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
  • Demonstrate a caring and compassionate attitude
  • Knowledge and use of computers and virtual platforms.
  • Willingness to work daily in-person assisting students with distance learning across multiple grade levels.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides tutorial assistance to students while they are engaged in virtual instruction and activities.
  • Monitors and supervises students behavior during Distance Learning.
  • Provides basic technical assistance to students with the use of computers.
  • Assists with clean-up and other related tasks following daily activities.
  • Prepares the room for set-up, activities, including organizing assignments.
  • Maintains materials and supplies, contact parents and may make copies.
  • May attend professional development as needed.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.



KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
  • Knowledge of applicable Federal, state, county and city statutes, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of applicable Cartwright School District and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge and use of computers and virtual platforms.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Positions in this class typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and seeing.
  • Incumbents may be subjected to blood and other body fluids.
  • Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of
force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
