DIRECT SUPERVISOR: Corps Officer

STATUS: Full Time - Seasonal

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Be able to pass a background check
  • Must be at least 21 years old and have a valid Arizona Driver’s License
  • Be able to communicate both verbally and written
  • Knowledge of Microsoft programs
  • Ability to learn Salvation Army programs
  • Be able to work with the public in a professional, compassionate manner
  • Organized and detailed
  • Self starter
  • Previous experience with recruiting, coordination, and scheduling preferable

DUTIES:

  • Recruit, coordinate, and schedule volunteers for all aspects of Angel Tree activities, including but not limited to Mall location, Angel Tree Warehouse process and distribution
  • Coordinate Angel Tree location pickups from Mall, Walmarts and other locations
  • Coordinate preparation at participating stores/mall prior to the start of Angel Tree, ensuring compliance with national contracts, meeting with store managers, working out details for scheduling and special needs.
  • Participate as needed in other Seasonal activities, which may include Thanksgiving, Toy & Food Distribution, Kettle Counting, etc.
  • Supply and maintain volunteer documentation, sign in sheets, contact information, and recording of hours.
  • Direct the clean up and storage of all Angel Tree toys and supplies following distribution.
  • Prepare thank you letters to store managers and volunteers
  • Prepare and submit to Corps Officer end of season brief.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time on a hard floor
  • Ability to grasp, push, pull objects and reach overhead
  • Ability to operate office machines - a telephone, a desktop computer, a copier/fax/scanner
  • Ability to access and produce information from a computer
  • Ability to repetitively lift 25lbs, and to safely move items up to 50lbs
  • Ability to produce written information
