JOB SUMMARY
Maintains responsibility for patient medical records, departmental communications, supplies and general documentation. Performs various typing and clerical duties. Records and tracks outgoing and incoming physician orders. Performs receptionist duties. Performs scheduling duties as necessary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/EXPECTATIONS
  • Always responds promptly to incoming calls, screens and directs calls appropriately to facilitate prompt and accurate assistance and/or resolution. Greets and directs clients/visitors as necessary.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of Document Management in Maestro. Accurately sends and tracks all orders for Home Health Care and Hospice.
  • Accurately and timely produce meeting minuets, spread sheets, word documents etc. as requested. Maintains data entry for Hospice and Home Care surveys.
  • Always maintains adequate supply of department supplies and forms, admission packets. Accurately performs supply ordering and supply charge entry.
  • Consistently sends admit/discharge letters to physicians. Collects and generates report of Hospice volunteer hours. Responsible for timely mailings of the Family Satisfaction survey and tabulates results when returned.
  • Assumes duties of the scheduler and Hospice Volunteer Coordinator as needed. Completes job duties in an efficient and effective manner. Consistently uses non-productive time to benefit the department. Demonstrates good organizational skills.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Post high school clerical courses or degree preferred.
  • One to three years experience in a clerical capacity in a health-related field preferred. Working knowledge of computers including word processing and data base skills preferred.
  • Typing of 60 words per minute preferred.
  • Good oral and written communication and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology desired. Knowledge of WordPerfect and Excel preferred.
HOURS
  • 36 hours per week 1st Shift (8:00am - 4:30pm)
