- Carpenter Company has an immediate opening for a Security Guardhouse/Gatekeeper/Watchmen at our Temple, TX manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for communicating with all employees as they enter/exit the building. In addition, it is the initial contact for truck drivers and the general outside public. The current typical shift for this position is Friday & Saturday 18:00-6:00 and Wednesday & Thursday 14:00-22:00

The successful candidate will be expected to exhibit great customer service while safeguarding, monitoring and checking the facility during off-shift(s), weekends, shutdowns and Carpenter Co. holidays.
Additional responsibilities of the Security Guard:
Receiving job functions:
- Maintain visitor log and screen non-employees
- Record truck arrivals and departures
- Greet visitors to the plant
- Back up switchboard and keep record of employees calling in to report absences
Security job functions:
- Patrol parking lots and buildings on a regular basis on weekends and when the production plant is not operating
- Monitor fire pumps and fire alarm system
- Monitor chemical alarms and systems
- Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons
- Monitor weather conditions
- A high school diploma or GED
- Excellent customer service skills
- Great work ethic
- Flexible (must be able to work flexible hours, overtime, weekends, holiday and "call-in's" with minimal notice)
- Must be a self-starter who's able to work well independently
- Previous security guard experience is preferred
- Prior experience in a production/manufacturing/trucking environment is preferred
