Allied Universal has security jobs and are seeking to fill the position of Badging Specialist / System Admin Assistant. As a Professional Security Officer for Allied Universal you will be responsible for the security and safety of our clients property and personnel. As the Allied Universal Security Officer, you will know all site-specific policies and procedures, and implement emergency response activities as appropriate, while providing superior customer service.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Posses a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years verifiable experience
  • Possess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner
  • Valid guard card/license, as required in the state for which you are applying.
  • As a condition of employment, employee must successfully complete a background investigation and a drug screen in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
  • Driving Positions: must possess a valid Drivers License with at least one year of driving experience, a clean driving record (no major violations within last 36 months, no more than 1 accident in last 24 months, no more than one minor moving violation in last 24 months), a minimum level of insurance as required by Company policy, and the ability to safely operate a vehicle required.

  • Display exceptional customer service and communication skills
  • Have intermediate computer skills to operate innovative, wireless technology at client specific sites
  • Ability to handle crisis situations at the client site, calmly and efficiently
  • Able to:
    • Work in various environments such as cold weather, rain/snow or heat
    • Occasionally lift or carry up to 40 pounds
    • Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift
    • Stand or walk on various surfaces for long periods of time

The Badging Specialist / System Admin Assistant will work alongside a well-selected team of professionals in a fast-paced environment. Duties include but are not limited to helping employees and contractors resolve badging issues via phone, email and in-person by verifying the individuals security access levels and issuing or extending temporary badges as appropriate.

In addition, candidate will be responsible for assisting with various administrative badging duties, many of which call for good judgment and creative problem solving in the absence of specific instructions. Candidate will work in conjunction with the Systems Administrator and assist with projects such as office build outs, system troubleshooting, and programming. The Badging Specialist reports directly to the AUS Account Manager.

Essential Job Functions

  • Activate and distribute badges for employees, contractors, and vendors as appropriate
  • Resolve employees and contractors badging issues via phone, email, and in person
  • Diligently manage employee onboarding and offboarding, granting and removing access to specific individuals daily
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly access control audits and provide access control configuration reports
  • Distribute and keep track of all access control equipment and supplies
  • Assist SOC / GSOC with employee requests (e.g. access control issues and troubleshooting)
  • Create employee profiles for new hires and be available for weekly new hire orientations
  • Interact daily with employees, leaving a consistently positive impression with every interaction
  • Keep a pulse on the security system / access control / badging software for full functionality
  • Complete new system troubleshooting and programming as directed
  • Lead company wide badging operations
  • Communicate effectively and efficiently with Safety Management
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; some college preferred
  • Active Guard Card with BSIS
  • 3 years of experience in Corporate Badging or equivalent years of training and professional work experience
  • Must have the ability to multitask and remain cordial and professional in stressful situations
  • Must have excellent communication, phone etiquette and people skills
  • Must be technically proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills
  • Positive attitude and outgoing personality are essential
  • Previous experience in customer service in an admin/receptionist position preferred
  • Previous experience using enterprise access control systems such as Lenel / S2 is highly preferred
