DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:
The Senior Accountant-Fixed Assets supervises, trains and provides technical guidance to the Fixed Assets
Accountant. Responsible for overseeing monthly and yearly maintenance of the financial fixed asset system,
reconciles general ledger fixed asset accounts, fixed asset system and financial statement footnotes related to
fixed assets; reviews in-house budgets related to capital projects; and assists external auditors, departments and
entities with supporting schedules related to capital projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provides accounting and reconciliation of the fixed asset system to the general ledger and the financial
statements.Provide technical guidance and assistance in resolving capitalization of complex transactions from an
accounting and budgeting perspective.Generates fixed asset reports as required by management and for audit purposes.Assists with monitoring primary government and related party capital assets.Collaborates with departments in the completion of the bi-annual inventory.Develops internal procedures related to the transfer, acquisition and retirement of assets as it pertains to the
fixed asset systems, general ledger and external supporting schedules.Provides superior internal and external customer service as well as approval of procurement requests related
to capital projects and assets.Responsible for supervising, training, and serves as a backup for the Contract Specialist.Approve all fixed asset journal entries for processing; responsible for ensuring that journal entries are accurate,
proper and have complete supporting documentation for the transaction; research outstanding audit findings
and assist in the preparation of corrective plan of action.Approve In-House Budget Changes (Capital Purchases and Projects) for departments and forward to Budget
Office.Assist departments with internal and inter-departmental procedural and administrative problems as directed.
Maintain superior customer service to internal and external customers.May prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports, financial statements and/or reconciliations.Maintain liaison with Program Directors, and Contracts & Grants Administration to coordinate financial
activity.Perform other duties as assigned.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILL AND ABILITY:Extensive working knowledge of:Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB)Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB)Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Government Auditing Standards (GAS)CFR 200 Grants and AgreementsPublic Law 638, including Indian Self-Governance ActOther Local, State and Federal regulationsKnowledge of Tribal organizational and financial management practices, including Tribal Finance and
Procurement Policies.Considerable knowledge of Native American economic and sociological issues.Experience and knowledge in the operation of a personal computer, Excel and Microsoft software:
Communitys ?nancial system, and Procurement.Exhibit good organizational writing and communications skills to develop logical and clear recommendations
based on the result of research.Ability to express ideas clearly, orally and in writing.Ability to follow up and complete projects in a timely manner.Ability to effectively plan, supervise and coordinate work of others.Ability to analyze and evaluate accounting problems and to develop logical and clear recommendations based
on the result of research.Ability to interpret Federal/State and non-governmental contracts and grant requirements and Tribal
ordinances.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, Community Officials
and the general public.Ability to perform all physical requirements of the position; agree to maintain a Drug-free workplace.VVVVVVVREOUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, and a minimum of four (4) years
successful experience in fixed assets accounting and governmental accounting or closely related financial activity;
and which includes two (2) years of supervisory experience.ADDITIONAL RE ZUIREMENTS:
Required to pass a background check.Required to obtain a Tribal Operator7s permit. Valid state drivers license with a current proof of driving record
for the past 39 months will be required to qualify for a tribal driving permit. Proof of driving record must be
submitted with application and must not be more than 60 days old from the date of submission of the
