CLASSIFICATION SUMMARY:
This position performs professional work of considerable difficulty in professional case management activities; performs related work as required or assigned. The employee performs diverse duties of an advance and specialized nature. Discretion is required in the application of policies, procedures, and guidelines, and in selection of appropriate resources for use in accomplishing assigned work.

The hiring salary for this position is dependent upon experience, qualifications and position funding.

JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Attend court hearings.
  • Serve as liaison between the court, other government agencies, and community providers.
  • Prepare reports and case updates for court review and consideration.
  • Facilitate, participate, and/or attend meetings, case conferences, committees, councils, and community meetings as appropriate.
  • Serve as an information source to the Judicial Bench, contract attorneys, DCS, and other state/federal agencies on service provision processes and best practices for court-involved children.
  • Assist in the development of in-service and external training.
  • Assist in the development of programs and participate in quality assurance and improvement efforts to enhance program outcomes.
  • Identify communication strategies needed to eliminate barriers and facilitate comprehensive service delivery for children and families.
  • Conduct orientation of new staff.
  • Maintain electronic case documentation in compliance with County, state, and Federal requirements.
  • Report statistical information and manage body of knowledge for community-based services and resources appropriate for court-involved children and families.
  • Maintain absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, customer records, and restricted County information.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Minimum Requirements

Minimum Qualifications & Special Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in social work, behavioral/social sciences, or other closely related field; and
  • Three (3) years' experience in social work, child welfare, criminal or juvenile justice, mental or behavioral health; OR
  • Equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to qualify.
Special Requirements:
Valid Arizona driver's license upon hire. Supplemental Information

  • Knowledge of the continuum of community-based services and resources appropriate to the individual needs of the case.

  • Knowledge of principles of human behavior, child development, mental health assessments, and health agency guidelines.
  • Knowledge of case management principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of social services, community organizations, and health services.
  • Skill in group facilitation.

  • Skill in problem solving.
  • Ability to critically analyze situations and make appropriate decisions and recommendations.
  • Ability to use experience and knowledge to determine solutions for the most difficult cases.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the public.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The work is light and requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects. The work also requires the ability to finger, grasp, handle, reach, perform repetitive motion, lift, hear, speak, walk, operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment, and demonstrate mental and visual acuity.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in an environment with crisis situations that require making major decisions involving people, resources, and property.
