Job Summary
The Senior Communications Associate will play a critical role in developing and implementing effective communications strategies to support Gullivers fundraising and alumni engagement efforts. This role will focus on creating compelling narratives and strategic communications that engage the schools alumni, and support overall fundraising initiatives for the school. The ideal candidate will have a passion for storytelling, exceptional writing skills, and a strong understanding of development communications.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising communications plans, including but not limited to gift announcements, appeals, print and digital publications, proposals, impact reporting, etc.
- Write persuasive copy for fundraising appeals, donor acknowledgements, and other materials.
- Collaborate with members of the Advancement team to identify key messaging and target audiences for fundraising initiatives.
- Advise on ways to incorporate giving and fundraising language in all written projects as appropriate.
- Work closely with the Director of Alumni Relations to develop and implement a strategic alumni communications plan to strengthen engagement and foster a sense of community.
- Write content for alumni social media channels, newsletters, websites, email campaigns, publications, event communications, etc.
- Partner with the Events Manager and Advancement team members to create impactful communications that boost attendance and engagement for alumni events and initiatives.
- Track and measure the effectiveness of fundraising and alumni communications campaigns.
- Assist with overall creative storytelling for the school.
- Function as a copyright expert to ensure grammatically correct and on-brand communications.
- Assist the Director of Brand Marketing and Creative Communications or Chief Advancement Officer with other projects and duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in related field.
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience in communications or related field.
- Experience with fundraising and/or alumni relations is preferred.
- Education experience is a plus!
- Flexibility to work occasional weekends and evenings may be required, with advanced notice.
