Job Description

The FSE Learning and Teaching Hub (LTH) is a newly formed unit with ASU Fulton Schools of Engineering working to facilitate a culture of teaching and learning in which all Engineering students thrive in environments that are relevant, engaging, and designed for student success. The LTH is seeking a motivated, collaborative, and solution-oriented individual who can thrive in an evolving environment to fill the role of Senior Coordinator, Learning Initiatives.

 

The Senior Coordinator, Learning Initiatives will plan, develop, and support a variety of faculty and course development initiatives within the LTH. This will involve coordination, development, and administration of multiple projects in several modalities (online, on-ground, ASU Sync). The ideal candidate will be proficient in project management, pedagogical principles, and instructional & data management technology, and will partner with team members in the LTH to enable various instructional initiatives in the Fulton Schools of Engineering. 

 

Salary Range

$43,100 - $55,000 per year; DOE

Essential Duties

·        Coordinate and oversee teaching-related support and professional development, including but not limited to: workshops, short courses, and trainings

·        Maintain and update the LTH website and oversee events communication

·        Schedule meeting, rooms, times, speakers, and technology for various initiatives, facilitate meetings and oversee coordination and communication between faculty, faculty leads, Hub staff, and appropriate ASU personnel for multiple projects

·        Plans events and executes projects in accordance with pre-established mission, goals, and objectives.

·        Establishes budget monitoring systems for controlling expenditures; procures materials and resources for workshops and events.

·        Supervises the activities of student employees to assist with communications and events.

·        Respond to faculty inquiries promptly, addressing questions and identifying the appropriate resources; routing questions to the appropriate personnel

·        Implement processes to assess professional learning initiatives including survey distribution and analysis, comparative analysis of topic requests with planned activities, tracking attendance, and identifying future resource needs

·        Collaborate with various stakeholders, including colleagues from the FSE Learning and Teaching Hub and throughout ASU, to support new initiatives as needed

·        Coordinate the creation of self-paced professional development trainings and badging system to track progress and assess effectiveness.

·        Remain abreast of instructional initiatives and trends related to pedagogy and learning technology to provide ideas, guidance and recommendations.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND five (5) years of related experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

 

Desired Qualifications

·        Experience in coordinating large programs or projects

·        Experience in project management including successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, and closure of a multiple projects

·        Exceptional interpersonal skills (e.g., with students, faculty, etc.) with the ability to develop trusting mentoring relationships

·        Experience in integrating instructional technologies in a higher education setting

·        Evidence of excellent written and interpersonal communication skills

·        Experience in supporting faculty in the STEM fields

·        Demonstrated knowledge of instructional technology applications

·        Experience in utilizing instructional technology to lead trainings and webinars

·        Demonstrated knowledge of instructional best practices in STEM and online/hybrid pedagogy

·        Experience in creating and organizing resources and establishing priorities

·        Evidence of four or more years working in a higher education institution

 

Working Environment

Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse (75%); Frequently required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work (20%); Occasional bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds (5%). Regular activities require the ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts; Ability to clearly communicate verbally, read, write, see, and hear to perform essential functions. Instruments used include calculator, telephone, computer (monitor, keyboard and mouse), printer, fax, and copier.
