Senior Human Resources Assistant - Benefits (Effective 2022-23 SCHOOL YEAR)
Job Description
SUMMARY:
Tucson Unified School District is hiring a Senior Human Resources Assistant (Sr. HR Assistant) to work on our Benefits team. We are looking for a high potential Human Resources Professional for an immediate start. This is a perfect opportunity for an individual looking to work in Benefits Administration or Human Resources in the public sector.
This individual will be responsible for providing high-quality customer service and accurate information about our District benefits offerings. The successful candidate will focus on supporting the benefits team with a variety of benefits questions, including answering our employee questions on health, dental, vision, and wellness plans. The Sr. HR Assistant - Benefits will manage our benefits external webpage and internal SharePoint site, work as scribe for our Employee Benefits Trust (EBT) committee, and manage Board Agenda Items related to benefits activities. The Senior HR Assistant - Benefits will perform administrative activities in the office, including filing, answering the phone, assisting in organizing documents.
Reports To: Program Manager - Benefits
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Four years experience in administrative, customer service, or secretarial roles in a business office. (Human Resource related roles include experience supporting payroll, benefits, or human resource departments).
Proficiency using software applications, internet, intranet support, word processing, database and spreadsheet programs.
Experience in basic accounting/bookkeeping practices and principles.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent customer service skills with strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
Verbal & written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions.
Any equivalent combination of experience, training, or education.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE
FBI fingerprint background check.
Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or Business
Professional HR Certification (SPHR, PHR or approved HR certificate from an accredited institution)
Bilingual - Spanish/English
Experience in a school district setting
Experience with Infinite Visions software.

Location: Human Resources - 1010 E. Tenth Street
Classification: Supervisory Confidential
FTE: 1.0 - 8 hours per day
Work Calendar: 12 month
Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.
