Job Description

The Senior Product Manager focusing on Procurement Solutions is directly responsible for the company's whole Product Offering for this space. He/She will provide leadership, determine strategy, and define the solution that will best serve new and existing customers by creating best in class solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of pain points and use cases that make Procurement unique. This role will conduct research, work with customers, build roadmaps, work across Product Managers on multiple products, and manage the cross-functional go to market activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Is the Subject Matter Expert on the Procurement ecosystem and solutions
  • Is the business owner and responsible for the profitability, fit to market, and quality of the Procurement solution
  • Builds a business plan supported by a solution vision, target markets, value propositions, and financial models to make go, no-go decisions
  • Produces solution roadmaps that will range across multiple products in support of company objectives
  • Determines and maintains requirements (whole product including software solution) through an in-depth understanding of customer and partner needs; works directly with customers and partners to understand their needs and translate them into requirements; evaluates and prioritizes requested solution enhancements
  • Oversees solution releases and market launches
  • Develops and implements solution related go to market plans; Oversees the overall strategy including the delivery of multiple development teams, pricing and marketing of solutions and services
  • Proactively researches and identifies technology trends that may be advantageous to global organization

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE WILL INCLUDE:

The ideal candidate will be required to have experience with accountability for financial success of the product and demonstration of the ability to work directly with customers and partners. Specifically, the candidate should have knowledge of product management principles and latest development and go to market practices.

  • Working with management to understand the market and work with internal teams to identify profitable opportunities and launch new products and features that contribute to a Procurement centric solution roadmap
  • Expert level understanding of the procurement process and its ecosystem of solution providers and its implementation within a companys work process and systems
  • Experience working in the transaction tax field (sales tax, consumer use tax, VAT, returns or payroll), the public accounting field or equivalent
  • ERP software experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of technological concepts such as Cloud, On-Demand, On-Premise and monetization of new products and features in those requirements is required
  • Ability to take customer needs and translate them to solution requirements that can be used by product teams for development is a required
  • Perform analyses and incorporate data driven decision making into overall product strategy
  • Proven ability to execute an end-to-end solution lifecycle
  • Developing plans for market, customer and competitive research and analysis
  • Experience with solution selling techniques
  • This individual is an evangelist for the needs of both the customer and the business and has a deep understanding of the customers job to be done
  • An ideal candidate would have a minimum of 5 years of software related experience from a previous role in IT, sales, product support, or product management. Specifically, the candidate should have proven experience in delivering through Agile methodologies in a fast-paced environment
  • Candidate must be a self-starter and product champion
  • She/he is an excellent communicator and builds strong cross-functional relationships, internally and externally
  • This individual will be skilled in working across departments to collaborate with Business Managers, User Experience, Application Architects, Engineering, Program Managers, QA, and Operations teams
  • Utilizes their strong leadership skills to lead cross-functional teams

EDUCATION & TRAINING REQUIRED:

  • Experience in product management
  • Experience working with procurement systems and transaction tax field (sales tax, consumer use tax, VAT, returns or payroll), the public accounting field or equivalent area
  • BA/BS with equivalent work experience related to definition and productization of complex software solutions. MBA Preferred
