Senior Production Engineer - Knoxville, TN Location

Overview:

• The successful candidate will integrate the Companys engineering and production processes and procedures and strive for continuous productivity and quality improvements/enhancements.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Production and Process Engineering staff.
• Assist with documenting current production procedures and create Company standards to improve the efficiency of the Production Department.
• Identify and implement continuous improvements to the Companys engineering and production processes.
• Collaborate with Quality Department to identify and implement ongoing quality improvements.
• Maintain knowledge and technical expertise of current production best practices tools and techniques and implement them in a reasonable and responsible manner.
• Collaborate with Field Service team to develop repair and replacement procedures.
• Improve and maintain Engineering Change Management processes between product engineering and production.
• Manage the Bill of Materials creation for production with timely product engineering updates.
• Develop and implement enhanced production testing of products.
• Create and maintain accurate and current documentation of design concepts and orders, in accordance with the Product Development and Quality Assurance functions.
• Assist in the evaluation of returned materials/products.
• Support the Local Motors Quality System.
• Lead, develop and mentor the Production team.
• Ensure design for assembly considerations in product design

Qualifications

• BS in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum 4+ years engineering experience leading multiple Product Programs in the Automotive Industry.
• Direct production and process engineering experience.
• Experience using design programs like Siemens NX, SolidWorks, or Equivalent
• Excellent documentation and communication skills - strong technical writing ability and proactive in reaching out to others.
• Ability to interface and communicate with upper management to ensure that proper production and engineering process principles are maintained through development to final production.
