Position Description
Provides health care related instruction using clinical simulation tools to support experiential
learning for multiple types of health professions learners at TTUHSC El Paso. Primary daily
instruction will be to provide training in American Heart Association (AHA) courses, such as
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). The candidate in
this position will support experiential learning activities the simulation center for all levels of
healthcare providers on the campus and in the region as appropriate for his or her clinical
background.

Major/Essential Functions
- Design, review, and prepare continuing education courses for learners as appropriate for specialty.
- Maintain and deliver educational programs for TTUHSC El Paso courses and individual trainings for medical professionals. Track and manage all required course materials (such as ACLS and PALS student documentation).
- Supports and participates in University Medical Education, Graduate Medical Education and continuing education certification courses.
- Provides direct support to Associate Director of Education and campus Faculty in the design and implementation of all coursework for current and future needs, including continuing education.
- Advance the mission of the university by creating evidence-based curriculum.
- Participates in daily setup and breakdown of simulation spaces.

- Performs instructional and educational work while serving as a teacher in TECHS particularly with ACLS and PALS coursework.
- Organizes and develops cases for simulation based-education and coordinates its delivery for students, through observation, direct feedback, debriefing and guided reflection as appropriate for the needs of the students and content being taught.

- Responsibilities encompass the coordination and instruction of one or more courses within a prescribed curriculum.
- Review textbooks, journal articles and other literature to provide curriculum updates for supported academic programs and scope of care for professional discipline. Maintain knowledge of required technical skill being taught within supported discipline.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Teacher certification preferred.
- Two years teaching experience required.
