Position Description
Performs highly skilled mechanical and/or analytical duties in the coordination and completion of projects. Work is performed under general guidelines using established procedures and evaluated on results obtained. May supervise skilled and semi-skilled subordinates.

Major/Essential Functions
Performs a variety of front line supervisory activities including recommending selection of staff, resolving minor work and personnel problems, scheduling of personnel, reviewing/approving employee timesheets, and investigating complaints; Read, examines, and reviews logs, reports and computer input prepared by subordinate staff for accuracy; makes corrections and forwards to appropriate staff; Will preriodically review Eventide and 9-1-1 records to ensure employee's responses are timely, courteous and actions taken are appropriate; keeps the Sergeant informed of all aspects of the operations of the 9-1-1 Dispatch Center including but not limited to service complaints, personnel problems, equipment problems, etc.; Review and monitors CAD entries administrative messages, TCIC/NCIC teletype and messages and stolen properties entries to ensure accuracy and compliance with guidelines; Coordinate and supervise the training, assignment and development of lead operators and others as assigned; completes a variety of reports and correspondence relating to shift and personnel activities; Is the Terminal Agency Coordinator for the department to ensure adherence to NCIC/TCIC procedures and policies; Acts as the department liason with the 9-1-1 District and represent the Agency at meetings and conferences; ensure the proper action is taken in the event of equipment failure with ability to troubleshoot problems and determine who to call for problem solving; proficient in all related duties of a dispatcher and may serve as a dispatcher on a designated shift

Preferred Qualifications

Five years of verifiable employment history with a minimum of three years experience at Texas Tech Police Department. Have at least one year of experience as a lead operator and be serving as a Lead Operator at the time of the promotional process. Must have a satisfactory record of performance with an overall rating of at least meets expectations on the previous two evaluations. Have a Telecommunications License with the State of Texas.
