Position Summary
The Senior Unemployment Operations Specialist supports Vensure TPA, LLC through the management of advanced administrative and compliance functions that maintain our strict adherence to legal and company guidelines. This position requires a commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, and a willingness to provide direction, mentorship, training, and oversite to others.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct research and provide problem analysis for escalated client and PEO (Professional Employer Organization) issues. Initiating changes to policy and process when required.
  • Analyze annual unemployment tax rate notices for our Vensure family of companies to ensure appropriateness of assigned tax rate and act with state agencies, based on sound review and knowledge to dispute rate and request review, if required.
  • Work with clients within joint rate groups, to determine eligibility and joint rate. File applications accurately and on time to the subject state agency. Prepare appropriate invoicing and apply rate updates to eligible groups.
  • Provide clients information, and guidance on voluntary contribution.
  • Conduct SUI rate and reporting audits by state and entity as needed. Partner with stakeholders to execute require changes.
  • Maintain comprehensive company resources, used across multiple division partners and departments to track SUI (State Unemployment Insurance) rates, confirm licensing and reporting requirements of internal entities.
  • Collaborate with current team members and new division partners across states and countries on integration initiatives to support TPA (Third Party Administration) services to the new book of clients.
  • Provide coaching and training to team members to increase knowledge and understanding of state unemployment policy, process, and compliance.
  • Responsible for managing rate compliance case queue and supporting POA (Powers of Attorney) queue as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Advanced knowledge of Unemployment tax reporting
  • A strong drive to deliver exceptional client support to both external and internal customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn current technology.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 applications.
  • A flexible, positive attitude, and desire to contribute to the success of a team.
  • Independent drive to seek answers and find solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and proactively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, good character, discretion, and good judgement.
  • Treat sensitive and confidential information responsibly
Education & Experience
  • 5+ years of unemployment claims experience.
  • Operational work experience in a PEO or payroll-heavy environment.
  • Previous experience implementing new processes or managing projects highly desired.
