POSITION SUMMARY:
- Under the direction of the Administrative Director of Revenue Cycle, the Senior Utilization Management Nurse Coordinator will monitor adherence to the hospital's utilization review plan to ensure the effective and efficient use of hospital services and monitor the appropriateness of hospital admissions and extended hospitals stays.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/License/Certification:
- Licensed as an RN in the State of California.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing or enrolled in BSN program within 30 days of start date and completion within 24 months of hire.
- BLS required prior to hands on patient care.
Experience/Skills:
- 4+ years of experience as an RN in Acute Care Setting.
- 4+ years of experience as an RN Case Manager.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence if required. Skills in written and oral formats of communication.
