Description

CLASSIFICATION SUMMARY: Under basic supervision, works on the development, integration, implementation, support and maintenance of enterprise level server applications for the Information Technology (IT) Department.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs server and application maintenance and updates as specified by vendors and industry standards; work includes use of a variety of management, development and support tools for server applications
  • Researches new and applicable items for use with Pinal County Sheriffs' Office projects, enhancements or existing applications
  • Performs project management, development, enhancements, implementation, modifications and documentation of Pinal County Sheriff's Office and Department projects
  • Provides Tier 3 and Tier 4 support functions and issue resolution for existing enterprise level applications
  • Performs related functions for Managing For Results program, including decision making, data entry, data verification and data analysis
  • Provides training on application enhancements, modifications and implementations of Pinal County Sheriff's Office and department projects
  • May perform special projects, including project management, system integration, system implementation, software development, workflow configuration and application configuration
  • Maintains absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, customer records and restricted Pinal County Sheriffs' Office information; performs related duties as required or assigned.
Minimum Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • One year of experience in network server applications support;
  • or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Must pass a thorough background investigation
  • Valid AZ drivers license by background stage
PREFERRED LICENSE & CERTIFICATION:
Valid and verifiable IT certifications in the following areas:
MTA, MCSE, CompTIA A+, Comp TIA N+, CCNA
Additional technical training and certifications may be required at the direction of the Sheriff. Supplemental Information

  • Maintenance procedures and standards for software applications, hardware and infrastructure
  • Capabilities of computer systems, including networked environments and specialized software applications
  • Network system access and security guidelines and standards
SKILL IN:
  • Interpreting and completing technical instructions and complex variables
  • Working independently in a technical environment with interlinked and changing priorities.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Independent body mobility to stand, walk, bend, and sit for prolonged periods of time and/or drive a vehicle. Manual dexterity to reach, and grasp; manual dexterity to hand write or use computer keyboard; vision sufficient to see/read; hear and speak to communicate with customers in person and over the phone. Position is located in an indoor office environment, working overhead, working in the elements, and in our Adult Detention Center.
On call status including nights and weekends.
