Service Technician - Miramar, CA location (Temp to Perm)

Job Description

Position Overview:

  • As a Field Service Technician, you are the first line of defense against issues that impact the operation of vehicles for our clients. In this role, you will complete diagnostics, installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware, & software solutions while building and maintaining excellent professional client relationships. Under the supervision of the Autonomous Vehicle Service Manager you will make decisions that are a balance of meeting customer expectations and business needs.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and repair vehicle systems while maintaining strict adherence to industry standard and internal safety procedures.
  • Strong electrical and high voltage (hybrid vehicle) experience
  • Assist in the deployment of autonomous vehicles and related infrastructure.
  • Work with service and engineering teams to develop and document repair and test procedures
  • Ability to work independently and travel within an assigned region
  • Be able to maintain automotive systems, including: brake systems, tire replacement/wear indicators, HV coolant systems, HVAC recovery
  • Work with 3rd party support vendors to resolve customer issues
  • Follow internal policies and procedures to include incident reporting, escalation and crisis communication
  • Utilize CAN tools to test components and determine the root cause of issues
  • Familiar with electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, and power supplies
  • Be able to operate Autonomous Vehicles to perform diagnostics and support as necessary.
  • Fulfill Safety Steward role when needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • VALID DRIVERS LICENSE AND CLEAN DRIVING RECORD ARE REQUIRED.
  • Working Knowledge of MS Office and G-Suite applications
  • Must have a desire to develop interpersonal and technical skills
  • Must be able to follow verbal and written directions
  • Clearly communicate with distributed team and leadership
  • Experience working with HV/hybrid systems
  • Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally (50%)
  • Familiarity with CAN bus systems
  • Diagnostic troubleshooting/experience with automotive systems
  • Meet physical requirements generally associated with field service repair such as continuous bending and lifting up to 50 pounds

  • A two-year technical degree with strong electrical background or equivalent is preferred.
  • This position requires a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
