Shipping Clerk

How Youll Make an Impact

The Shipping Clerk will ensure that orders leaving Valvoline La Porte meet the paperwork requirements and understands how to ship full truck loads, less than truck load and export orders. This role will be functional in the IWP process of tracking orders. In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Understanding the process of shipping LTL, FTL and containerized goods
• Working with truckers on schedules, loading and unloading freight
• Working with material handlers to complete orders, pack them correctly and produce all needed shipping documents
• Maintaining a clean work space, wearing masks when needed and keeping offices safe from trip hazards and clutter
• Working with other shipping clerks to ensure office coverage during shipping hours
• Filling documents monthly as per company guidelines
• Understanding and being functional with IWP

What Youll Need

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of two years experience in a Distribution center
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite
• Must be able to learn and utilize computer programs to print labels and paperwork for shipping
• Must be able to safely operate material handling equipment, including forklifts
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• Must be able to walk, sit, bend, lift, climb as needed to perform daily duties
• Must be able to work in a non-climate controlled environment
• SAP experience a plus
• Forklift certification preferred
• Valid Driver's License required
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
