Job Description

Position Summary

The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator verifies the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments and orders. This position will also be responsible for seeing orders through to completion with little supervision. Associate will work directly with customers and performs a variety of tasks under general supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Verify that the quality, type and amount of materials received are accurate
  • Compares identifying information with bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records
  • Verifies materials received are as ordered
  • Manifesting UPS shipments
  • Creates bills of lading for truck carriers
  • Produce and attach identifying tags to product or shipments
  • Off-loading trucks utilizing forklift or pallet jack
  • Breaking down freight - Hand off-loading of product to consolidated put-away location
  • Picking product orders - Hand loading product to pallets
  • Packaging outbound shipments - Wraps, straps or over pack boxing of product
  • Daily housekeeping activity
  • Fulfills all safety responsibilities

Qualifications

Experience and Skill Required

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Licensed to operate material handling equipment
  • On a continuous basis: work in a standing position, bend and lift up to 50 lbs
  • One-year experience working in shipping and/or receiving
  • Familiarity with both LTL and UPS shipping
  • Good communication, data entry, math and organization skills
