Shipping Supervisor - 2nd Shift

The Shipping Supervisor manages associates with respect to safety, efficiency and quality of work by fostering a teamwork environment; maintaining and improving 5 S standards; developing, implementing, monitoring and enforcing standardized work; and work toward continuous improvement to meet company goals.

• Exercises direct supervision over associates with respect to safety, efficiency, quality of work, training of existing and new employees
• Helps to foster an environment of teamwork and cooperation
• Develops, implements, monitors and enforces standardized work
• Works toward continuous improvement to meet company goals
• Maintains & improves 5-S Standards
• Insures labor is scheduled to support internal and external customer requirements
• Completes hourly associate reviews and initiates paper work for disciplinary action as needed
• Helps investigate injuries, accidents, or near misses throughout the plant and provides detailed documentation to Human Resources, EHS, Shipping and Receiving Manager and/or Materials Manager
• Addresses safety issues immediately with Shipping and Receiving Manager, Materials Manager, Human Resources and/or EHS
• Follows ISO14001 guidelines as they relate to specific job activities
• As required, communicates with customers who contact the plant
• Reviews data to determine down time causes and puts corrective action in place by using problem-solving techniques
• Assists Shipping and Receiving Manager and Materials Manager in responding to corrective actions from customer complaints by leading problem solving teams
• Works with management to attain department and company goals
• Performs other responsibilities as directed/assigned by supervisor or upper management

Requirements

• 3-5 years experience in a similar leadership role
• Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Proficiency with database applications and administration systems, specifically Microsoft Office
• Must be a highly motivated, service and team-oriented individual with an attention to detail
• Strong analytical ability
• Problem solving skills
• Demonstrated good internal customer service skills

• Overtime as required
• Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
• Hi-lo license may be required
