Who we are

Shellpoint Mortgage Servicing (SMS) is one of Americas top-five non-bank mortgage-servicing companies. What is mortgage servicing? Our clients are businesses that own mortgage loans (such as banks and real estate investment firms). On their behalf, we manage (or "service") their loan portfolios, which means that we collect homeowners mortgage payments, pay their tax and insurance bills, and help homeowners in default to get current.

Summary:

Ensures that payoff funds are decisioned appropriately according to policies and procedures. Maintains all SLAs and proper tracking of SLAs within the payoff process timeline. Updates all systems and trackers to ensure that funds outstanding are being reported and collected timely. This position requires monitoring and ensuring that funds are received thus completing the payoff process. This includes communications with title companies, clients and internal associates.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain stated performance level for all assigned tasks and updating the tracker appropriately
  • Ensure all compliance timelines are adhered to and properly documented
  • Respond to all external and internal emails completely and within internal & external SLAs
  • Reconcile loan level activity
  • Make all necessary adjustments on loans with respect to payoff funds
  • Monitor reporting to ensure short payoffs are resolved within the set SLA
  • Reject funds if the necessary funds are not received
  • Work with wire and payment processing groups as needed
  • Work with Loan Servicing and Loss Mitigation on accounts that are require homeowner interaction
  • Make decisions based on authority level with respect to non-recoverable interest and fees
  • Focus on mitigating future losses for the company
  • Other tasks or responsibilities as assigned by management

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills when dealing with internal and external groups
  • Strong skills with project management, process management, and documentation thereof
  • Significant experience in Mortgage Servicing or other relevant financial industry

Educational Requirements:

  • College or university degree in the field of Business, Data Analysis, computer science, process improvement, project management, etc. or significant experience in the field

Work Schedule & Travel ok

  • Typical work schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:00 - 5:00 with some minor flexibility
  • Certain after hours/weekend support may be necessary for projects or high business volume situations
  • After hours/ weekend email monitoring
  • Up to 10% travel to other company locations for projects, training, etc.
