Allied Universal is seeking the position of a Undercover Loss Prevention Associate. For all full-time positions, we offer medical, dental and vision coverage, life insurance, 401K, sick pay (in states where required), employee assistance programs, company discounts, perks and more! We also offer part-time and flexible schedules!
We are looking to make immediate hires for Experienced Undercover Store Detectives that are familiar with California shoplifting laws
Essential Functions include but are not limited to:
Recover merchandise and make safe apprehensions within company policy and guidelines, be diplomatic and professional during all stops
Have knowledge of, and ensure strict compliance with local police and company policies concerning apprehensions, search and seizure in the preservation of evidence.
Prepare prompt and complete reports relative to all theft incidents, merchandise recoveries, and other activities as assigned by the client or supervisor/manager
Maintain a professional attitude and demeanor at all times when dealing with the public, client, and employees
Must be able to make timely decisions and evaluate circumstances based upon the five steps of apprehension
Must be able to stand/walk sales floor for entire scheduled shift
Attention to detail skills must be excellent, knowledge of store layout and experience in random cycle counts to reduce store shrinkage
Requirements:
100% open availability with scheduling
Willing to travel between stores
California Guard Card
One year of verifiable Loss Prevention or Asset Protection experiences, resulting in numerous shoplifting apprehension is preferred.

Job Requirements
ACTIVE California Guard License
Willing to work Morning, Mid-Day and Evenings
State Issued Identification
Social Security Card or Birth Certificate
Security or Retail Experience (+3 Years)
Loss Prevention Experience is preferred
Personal Vehicle - Reliable Transportation
A Loss Prevention Associate allows us to contribute to our companys core purpose of providing unparalleled service, systems and solutions to serve, secure and care for the people and businesses of our communities. We are looking for an experienced Loss Prevention Associate that has a background in the apprehension of shoplifters. Previous security experience or former military/ law enforcement encouraged to apply
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Be at least 18 years of age with high school diploma or equivalent for non-driving and 21 years of age for driving positions
- Possess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner
- Valid guard card/license, as required in the state for which you are applying.
- Previous Law Enforcement or Military preferred or prior retail Loss Prevention experience - Undercover experience a plus
- As a condition of employment, employee must successfully complete a background investigation and a drug screen in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
- Display exceptional customer service and communication skills
- For Driving Positions must be 21 years of age, Current state drivers license, clean driving record (no points in prior 3 years), minimum level of insurance as required by Company policy, and ability to safely operate a vehicle required.
- Have intermediate computer skills to operate innovative, wireless technology at client specific sites
- Ability to handle crisis situations at the client site, calmly and efficiently
- Ability to travel to store locations within 25 miles of home
- Ability to work retail store hours - to work evening and weekends
- Possesses general operating knowledge of retail security camera equipment
- Blend into a retail environment
- Perform successful customer surveillance while walking the sales floor
- Detect and apprehend shoplifters following company policy and guidelines
- Able to:
- Work in various environments such as cold weather, rain/snow or heat
- Occasionally lift or carry up to 40 pounds
- Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift
- Stand or walk on various surfaces for long periods of time
