For our Client in Lake County, we are seeking a LBS1 Special Education Teacher.
SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S DESCRIPTION OF THIS OPPORTUNITY
* Provide care to developmentally disabled students to promote emotional and social growth
* Plan and implement a program of study that meets the needs, abilities, and interests of all students assigned to the class.
* Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students.
* Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establish clear objectives for all
lessons, units, and projects.
* Strive to implement by instruction and action, the District's philosophy of education and instructional materials.
* Assist in the selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
* Establish and maintain cooperative relations with others.
* Design and implement high quality IEPs that effectively catalog students' needs with clear objectives and outcomes in a timely manner.
* Assist in the Reponse to Intervention (RTI) process, and any necessary testing
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
* Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree
* LBS1 Enhancement
* Teacher certification - completed or in process
* A record of personal, professional, and/or academic achievement
* Demonstrated expertise in subject area
* Commitment to and experience working with underserved communities (preferred)
* Determination to drive student achievement and set high expectations for all students
* A positive mindset to provide solutions-oriented response to challenges
