Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for an experienced and highly motivated Sr. Account Manager to promote their polyurethane systems for the Chemical Systems division. This position is responsible for expanding our existing base of business and would ideally be located in the Southeast region of the United States . This is a remote opportunity working from a home office.

As the Sr. Account Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of account management to maintain and grow our business within an assigned customer base. This is a consultative selling process that involves building relationships & trust with customers across the value chain.

Your additional responsibilities as Sr. Account Manager will include:

  • Support the business needs of existing customers while maximizing return to Carpenter.
  • Generate new business by contacting prospects and qualifying these accounts for pursuit.
  • Develop and manage strategic and operational action plans for developing prospects and pursuit accounts through the sales cycle.
  • Provide routine written communications detailing market trends, competitive products/activities, and interactions with customers.
  • Work independently and efficiently to achieve business objectives.



  • Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Business or another related major
  • 7+ years of sales/marketing and/or technical experience in the chemical industry preferably in the field of polyurethanes
  • Advanced knowledge & proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook)
  • Strong critical thinking, communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to travel overnight up to 60% for customer meetings and other business activities
