Carpenter Americas has an immediate opening for a Sr. Account Manager at our Rochester Hills, MI manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for expanding our existing base of business and in the upper mid-west region of the United States and eastern Canada.

As the successful candidate, you will be expected to maintain and grow our business within an assigned customer base. This is a consultative selling process that involves building relationships & trust with customers across the value chain.

Your additional responsibilities as Sr. Account Manager will include:

  • Support the business needs of existing customers while maximizing return to Carpenter.
  • Forecast demand to support the supply chain planning process.
  • Generate new business by contacting prospects and qualifying these accounts for pursuit.
  • Develop and manage strategic and operational action plans for developing prospects and pursuit accounts through the sales cycle.
  • Provide routine written communications detailing market trends, competitive products/activities, and interactions with customers.
  • Work independently and efficiently to achieve business objectives.



  • Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Business or another related major
  • 4+ years of sales/marketing and/or technical experience in the chemical industry preferably in the field of polyurethanes
  • Advanced knowledge & proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook)
  • Strong critical thinking, communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time for customer meetings and other business activities.
  • Valid driver's license and passport.
