Who we are
Shellpoint Mortgage Servicing (SMS) is one of Americas top-five non-bank mortgage-servicing companies. What is mortgage servicing? Our clients are businesses that own mortgage loans (such as banks and real estate investment firms). On their behalf, we manage (or "service") their loan portfolios, which means that we collect homeowners mortgage payments, pay their tax and insurance bills, and help homeowners in default to get current.
Summary:
The Sr. Development Analyst will develop, test and administer the calculation functions within the Loss Mitigation System (LMS) according to investor delegation and the business needs of the Loss Mitigation Department. The Analyst will work closely with operational business units and the IT development community to ascertain design specifications and ensure timely and accurate production releases of calculations for our loss mitigation products including the modification of final mortgage terms for homeowners.
Responsibilities:
Work with IT and Loss Mitigation Operations staff to create calculation waterfall logic for loan modification scenarios using strong mathematical skills and excellent SQL capabilities.
Develop QC and UAT test scenarios utilizing complex queries, test and record results, and maintain all documentation of system changes.
Develop a high degree of familiarity with our data warehouse tables for any data related to loss mitigation processes
Collaborate with Loss Mitigation departments to determine and document business requirements for any new modification waterfall calculations prior to development.
Become a subject matter expert for all reporting and calculation output from the LMS system.
Manage daily, weekly, monthly an ad-hoc reporting requirements, producing reports at scheduled intervals and distributing to business customers.
Track and maintain data for presentation to internal clients in a variety of formats such as Reporting Services, charts, pivot tables, and SQL Server sandboxes.

Qualifications/Skills:
2-4 years work experience using advanced SQL
Knowledge of relational database structures required
Advanced skills in Excel (graphs, pivot tables, formulas)
Must achieve a score of "proficient" or higher on SQL test
Project Management experience
Strong attention to detail and an ability to multi-task, manage to deadlines
Ability to work well independently and in a collaborative environment
Educational Requirements:
Bachelors degree preferred
