Aetna Marketing Technology aims to transform health and wellness by creating the most transparent and frictionless customer experience across product discovery journey, acquisition, onboarding, enrolling and renewal cycles. This team is responsible for Aetna's digital marketing strategy and all marketing and sales digital products, as well as the development road map and execution of the roadmap. A key part of this team is to leverage Marketing Technology SaaS, PaaS, Cloud, and AI solutions to create a seamless, multi-touch, intelligent and personal customer acquisition and retention ecosystem to grow our B2B and B2C businesses.

Reporting to the Vice President of MarTech and Digital Experience and part of the Aetna Marketing and Enterprise Chief Customer Officer organization, The Senior Director, Marketing Technology Platforms will direct a team of 4 and lead enterprise-wide efforts to promote the use of cutting-edge marketing technology applications, business model transformation, future of digital advertising, automation, and innovation program rollouts. You will prioritize critical projects based on business and customer needs; work cross-functionally to evaluate, build and improve the integrations of our marketing automation tools with sales, support and analytic tools.

Ensures Aetnas business objectives are achieved by leading new/innovative ideation or development of digital marketing enhancements. Accountable for the end to end management of key platforms in our Marketing Technology Stack, including Content Management System (AEP), Multi-channel Communication System (SFMC), CRM (SFDC), Analytics, Audience Management Tools, DMP, and various back-end system integrations. This role is a critical driver for developing and maintaining MarTech capabilities across all Aetna marketing digital assets (i.e., Aetna.com, Aetnamedicare.com, Transformation Products, Behavior Change PODs, etc.).

* Define the longer-term vision, architecture, and related design principles for digital marketing platform
* Effectively partner across Aetna business lines to understand unique business and product needs and ensure the technical strategy meets those requirements
* Analyze and manage technology cost drivers to ensure efficient scale and support of MarTech platform capabilities
* Serve the needs of internal stakeholders while delivering an exceptional experience for the end users; establishing best practices and process standardization
* Identify exiting gaps and ensure prioritization for the marketing technology organization: monitoring progress, distilling key learnings, and sharing feedback with the wider organization for alignment and adjustment
* Lead and manage via influence; engender confidence and followership with a lend of strategic thinking, creativity; mobilize, execute and deliver
* Serve as the spokesperson for marketing technology themes within the company
* Develop and lead a high performing team that is recognized internally and externally as best in class
* Identify automation opportunities with the goal of increasing productivity and reducing total cost of ownership while improving time to market
* Focus on innovation, emerging technologies, and making recommendations on the strategic use of technology
* Manage relationship with both business unit leaders, internal technology users, IT organization, Customer Experience SMEs and the agency
* Lead vendor relationship management, contract definition, negotiations in collaboration with enterprise procurement office
* Works closely with IT & Security to ensure the marketing technology stack is integrated and compliant
* Optimizes technology investments to drive business value

Required Qualifications
* 8+ years of experience in technology management, development or installation, ideally in marketing technology
* 5+ years directly leading teams working in a matrix environment to accomplish outcomes including P&L
* 5+ years working with advance platform technologies, particularly in Cloud (PaaS and SaaS) models, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Adobe Experience Platform and other enterprise marketing technology capabilities
* Strong depth of expertise in two or more digital marketing channels
* Travel to meet business needs

Preferred Qualifications
* Strong project / program management experience is valuable
* Must be able to manage multiple projects
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including listening and ability to explain complex ideas and technologies, and ability to interact with all levels of the organization, including senior executives
* Strong executive presence and leadership communication
* Demonstrated experience defining and delivering a platform and platform strategy that hosts complex, technical, highly-reusable modules/components across several channels
* Exceptional digital team builder and developer of direct, indirect, and non-report talent
* Solid experience in Agile/DevOps environments
* Strategy development experience: strengths in structured and logical thinking, including ability to dissect a problem into an organized approach and form a hypothesis against which to conduct requisite analyses and maintain a high attention to detail
* Demonstrated experience gaining alignment across a complex organization to balance delivery of tactical business needs with a platform strategy to maximize reuse and reduce technical debt
* Ability to think and act strategically. To diagnose and implement solutions for complex problems
* Ability to push thinking; can make technical information understandable to the general population, while supporting ideas with robust business cases
* Budgeting, forecasting working with finance partners
* Recruiting, hiring, and org development working with HR and talent acquisition partners

Education
Bachelor's Degree; Master's Degree Preferred
