Agile analytic support is critical to delivering on these commitments to patients and payers, and it depends on a deep understanding of prescription drug utilization patterns and costs as well as related medical services utilization, advanced analytic techniques, and leading edge behavior change approaches and technologies. We are looking for a business strategy and analytics leader to build and oversee an analytics team focused on performance and outcomes assessment of existing programs and services using rigorous impact measurement methods, and on driving innovation and end-to-end value proposition by focusing on strategies to develop and improve programs and services in the PBM, medical pharmacy, and specialty pharmacy settings.

The Senior Director of PBM Analytics will be tasked with leading a growing team of analytics professionals in identifying business needs and opportunities and designing, developing, and delivering investigative, predictive and prescriptive analytics for the CVH Health prescription benefit management and specialty business. This role will report into our VP, PBM/Specialty Analytics.The successful candidate will be a thought partner for the leaders in the product development organization and will develop analytic solutions to drive cost-effective utilization and medication adherence through utilization management, plan design, and patient and provider outreach solutions. In collaboration with other analytic partners, the Sr. Director will be working with senior business leaders across product development, clinical, sales, and marketing functions to identify opportunities to leverage a range of analytic solutions, from providing data driven insights to advanced modeling and machine learning, to solve complex business problems.

The responsibilities of the role include:
- Evaluate business needs, develop strategy and drive delivery of significant incremental business value.
- Build the short and long term roadmap for analytics in support of the PBM product development function, including clear objectives and action plans for data driven insights and model development and integration.
- Plan and oversee development, implementation and deployment of the overall analytic solutions, ensuring that deliverables align with current and future business strategies and are successfully integrated into existing business processes.
- Develop and drive the analytic strategy and roadmap in close partnership with data strategy organization to identify appropriate data infrastructure and technology investments to enable the fulfillment of the analytic agenda.
- Build and lead a team of colleagues with advanced training, comprised of Data Scientists and Analytic Consultants.
- Oversee selection of analytic methodology and metric definitions, and provide quality assurance of results, working with team leaders and members to problem-solve issues with data, analytic solutions and modeling.
- Prepare and deliver presentations that translate analytic insights into tangible, actionable solutions for business partners to implement, and communicate with senior management in a top down manner.
- Work with sr. leaders in planning, developing, and executing short and long-range goals.

Required Qualifications
* 10+ years of progressive analytic experience in envisioning, developing, delivering, and integrating analytic solutions.
* Executive level consulting experience in translating business problems across disciplines into advanced analytic projects with measurable business value combined with ability and experience to work closely with the individual contributors to efficiently translate plans into reality.
* Demonstrated experience leading internal or external funding efforts for projects based on business value and ROI.
* Analytics experience within the healthcare industry, with experience deploying capabilities across a wide range of business disciplines and creating solutions to a variety of problems.
* Proven experience working across multiple business areas such as operations, finance, sales, product, and strategy.
* Solid understanding and hands on experience with a variety of analytic processes and techniques, including health economics outcomes research, measurement methodologies development, hypothesis testing, statistical significance testing, modeling and machine learning.
* Solid understanding and hands on experience working with large data sources, particularly administrative claims and clinical program data, focusing on efficient data extraction from large databases, data manipulation, and setting up optimized summary data layers.
* Experience in machine learning and quantitative research analytics such as: Non-Linear Regression Analysis, Multivariate Analysis, Bayesian Methods, Generalized Linear Models, Decision Trees and Random Forest, Non Parametric estimations, Neural Networks, Ensemble Models, etc.
* Strong background in statistical languages technologies (e.g. R, SAS) and experience with Hadoop technology and open source languages (Python, Spark)
* Proven team leadership and management experience, with ability to recruit, engage and develop staff with advanced degrees and diverse backgrounds and in different geographic locations, ability to allocate resources based on priority and skill level, strengths, and area of expertise; ability to train and mentor junior colleagues and identify and guide team leaders.
* Proven ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with non-analytic business partners, including executive leadership, in order to elicit business needs and formulate, propose and refine analytic solutions in order to meet the business needs and to drive efficiency and effectiveness improvements and business value.
* Excellent written and oral communication and data presentation skills, with ability to tailor the communication style to the right audience, from the analytic professional to the senior business leaders.
* Excellent project management skills with ability to lead and engage in multiple projects and initiatives and appropriately prioritize her/his own time as well as that of the direct reports.

Preferred Qualifications
1.Management consulting experience a plus
2.Deep understanding of the healthcare administration landscape and CVS Health business model, including patient and payer concerns, as well as the operational considerations in support of the business objectives.

Education
Advanced degree in a related discipline, such as epidemiology, public health, statistics, biostatistics, health economics, pharmacy or related field, or MBA, with training in statistics and health services utilization analytics.
