THE OPPORTUNITY:

As a result of our rapid growth across all our businesses, we are seeking high performing Staff Accountants across our Freedom Financial Network accounting operations. The role will report to the Manager of Accounting in our Freedom Financial Asset Management business. As Staff Accountant II, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our investors, accounting team, business operations and broader finance organization supporting best practices for the company.

THE ROLE:

  • Perform month-end account closing activities and journal entries
  • Prepare monthly accruals for large spends on marketing, legal, consulting and general expenses
  • Prepare our investor dashboards, cash reconciliations and reporting
  • Respond to investor inquiries. Research and resolve variances timely
  • Maintain and update the balance sheet account reconciliations supporting GAAP compliance
  • Support external audit in compiling reports, schedules and conducting research
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Participate as a support role on special projects

REQUIREMENTS/CHARACTERISTICS:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 3+ years of strong general ledger experience
  • Must be results-oriented, able to manage timelines and proactively communicate to various team members
  • Meticulous attention to detail, accuracy, and drive to deliver high-quality work
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced and collaborative work environment
  • Experience in the financial services industry a plus
  • CPA a plus
  • Investor reporting or loan accounting a plus
