Responsibilities

A Day in the Life of a Staff Accountant:

As a Lincoln Military Housing Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for multiple accounting processes to include various monthly account reconciliations, daily processing of accounts payable transactions, cash review/posting of incoming/outgoing payments, ad hoc reporting and various other accounting/administrative tasks. Your role requires accuracy, the ability work efficiently and effectively, and the ability to deliver on our mission of providing exemplary service in accordance with Lincoln Military Housings quality customer satisfaction standards.

Your Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Review GL coding on invoices prior to posting. Ensure invoices are approved with proper documentation according to established purchasing policies.
  • Process government utility invoices and prepare ad hoc analysis on usage/rates.
  • Review and process expense reports according to company policies in Certify.
  • Process write-off packages as received from the districts and/or the Customer Care Department.
  • Complete reconciliations and account analyses as assigned.
  • Process voids and stop payments as received.
  • Maintain vendor records to include new vendor set-up and existing vendor updates/changes.
  • Review and post resident refunds.
  • Assist with the 1099, unclaimed property, personal property tax, and other state required reporting.
  • Reconcile credit card transactions and monthly credit card statements.
  • Perform other related duties including ad hoc reporting and projects as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications

What You Need for Success:

  • Four years accounting experience and Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance required. Property management industry experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Excellent computer proficiency in MS Office Word, intermediate Excel, Gmail and Google Docs.
  • Yardi experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment. Flexibility is important.
  • Strong attention to detail is critical.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
  • Must also be able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Must be able to obtain DBIDS or equivalent access to MCB Camp Pendleton.
  • Ability to travel to other regional locations for work, training, meetings and other work-related activities.
