Position Summary

Represent the College of Nursing in a professional and courteous manner along with exemplifying respectful campus characteristics to internal and external constituents.

Provide professional nursing services and expertise in coordinating the simulation learning experience for undergraduate and masters clinical education programs. Maintain a safe and organized environment in the skills labs. This includes setting up the student learning experience with the proper equipment and supplies. As well as breaking down of each event. Will assist in various aspects of simulation at HSC campus and Rio Rancho campus.

In addition to these duties this position may include teaching responsibility to support undergraduate faculty and students as needed.

Conditions of Employment
  • CPR Certification must be obtained within 2 weeks of date of hire.
  • Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.
  • IV Certification within 6 months of hire may be required for some positions in this classification, depending on the individual needs of the department
Minimum Qualifications

Graduate of a nationally accredited Nursing program; no previous experience required.Certification/Licensure State of New Mexico Licensed Registered Nurse or licensure pending as documented by temporary licensure OR current RN licensure from a state participating in the multistate privilege to practice compact with New Mexico.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Will need to have obtained BSN degree
  • MSN
  • Two years of RN nursing practice
  • Preceptor or Unit Based Educator experience
  • Receptive to student engagement and learning
  • Communication skills essential
  • Adaptive to new computer software applications and other technology
