POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Director of Pharmacy Services, and/or the Pharmacy Manager, the Staff Pharmacist ensures safe and timely preparation and delivery of pharmaceuticals to patients and employees of the Hospital.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/License/Certification:

Must have a current California Pharmacist License.
Must have and maintain current American Heart Association BLS certification or obtain within orientation process, prior to assignment.
Must have and maintain American Heart Association ACLS and PALS certification or obtain within six (6) months of assignment to department.
Graduation from an ASHP accredited residency and Board Certification or five years of recent hospital inpatient experience is preferred.

Experience/Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence if required. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English, and communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages if required. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of basic computer skills.
