Position Description

Incumbents in this position are trained to portray specific sets of health problems and symptoms that will aide students in learning the proper techniques and procedures for taking medical histories, performing medical examinations, determining diagnoses, and learning the appropriate way to educate and inform patients of diagnoses.

Major/Essential Functions
Performing a variety of duties in order to accurately and consistently portray specific types of symptoms as defined by a patient case. This may include memorizing the history of their present illness, past medical history, physical exam results as well as demonstrating appropriate body language, emotional status, and personality characteristics. Standardized patients will be trained and monitored to ensure the proper information is given per case, professionalism is maintained as well as confidentiality to protect student privacy.

Pay Statement

Occasional Duties
Hired standardized patients are required to check email at least 3 times a day, as this is SimCentral's primary source of communication. There is no specific minimum number of hours guaranteed, our SP program provide the needs specific to the academic year curricula and schedule. Flexibility in daily schedule is required, being available at least 2-3 half days during the work week is preferred, exceptions made for college students, personal vacations and various other circumstances.
