JOB SUMMARY
Decontaminates, cleans, inspects, assembles, sterilizes and distributes all medical/surgical supplies, instruments and equipment used in patient care
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/EXPECTATIONS
- Consistently follows AAMI guidelines for inspection, assembling and sterilization.
- Consistently operates ultrasonic washer, washer pass through, Hi-Vac, gravity and ethylene oxide sterilizers per manufactures guidelines. Sterilization records are always accurate and up to date.
- Infection Control principles are consistently followed when decontaminating equipment used on nursing units. Patient charges are accurate.
- Accurately provides OR case set-ups with instruments and supplies with correct amounts of items.
- High school diploma required. Certification as a Registered Central Service Technician preferred.
- Certified Central Supply Technician preferred. Any healthcare experience beneficial.
- Knowledge of the concept of an exchange cart and Operating Room case cart system. Identification of surgical instruments, aseptic technique and infection control procedures helpful. Is capable of working independently.
