Job Description
Grand Canyon Education (GCE) is an educational service company that provides an array of support services in the post-secondary education sector. Formerly part of Grand Canyon University (GCU), GCE still supports and works closely with GCU. GCE designs and develops educational programs for GCU and other traditional campus institutions, as well as online partner institutions at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels.
Grand Canyon Education's Student Accounting team is currently seeking a Stipend Specialist.
Responsibilities:
Adheres to all department and company policies and procedures.
Analyze and adjust student accounts.
Process student stipend/refund checks.
Proactively contact university departments to maintain student accounts.
Assist with processes to ensure compliance with Title IV issues and maintain best practices in accounts receivable.
Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with student service divisions.
Provide weekly and monthly reports as needed on activities.
Meet defined department goals and all established activity metrics.
Ensure timely communication and follow up with student services divisions regarding student accounts.
Assist with other miscellaneous projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
High school diploma required. Associate degree preferred.
6 months - 2 years related experience preferably in financial or accounting department and/or training in the principles and practices of accounting.
Solid skills in written and verbal communications.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks to achieve deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to complete job duties with a high degree of accuracy.
Ability to utilize database software and/or advanced usage of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
Strong goal orientation.
Able to work in a highly collaborative team environment as a team player.
Provide a positive example to students by supporting the Universitys Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
