The Strategic Sourcing Specialist is responsible for partnering with the organization to facilitate sourcing activities that support corporate strategy, drive the lowest total cost of ownership, and fuel growth across the enterprise. In addition, develop sourcing strategies to reduce costs, minimize risk, increase efficiency in the sourcing process, and identify opportunities in the marketplace.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Required Work Experience

  • 5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, contract negotiations and related functions (Applies to level 1)
  • 8 years of experience in strategic sourcing, contract negotiations and related functions (Applies to level 2)

Required Education

  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, or related field of study.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Work Experience

  • 8 years of experience in strategic sourcing, contract negotiations and related functions (Applies to level 1). Healthcare Payer experience a plus.
  • 10 years of experience in in strategic sourcing, contract negotiations and related functions (Applies to level 2). Healthcare Payer experience a plus.

Preferred Education

  • Masters degree in in Supply Chain, Procurement or related field of study

ESSENTIAL job functions AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute and lead the sourcing events, activities including but not limited to: issuing RFx, analyzing data from proposals, negotiating terms and conditions, preparing NDAs, creating SOWs
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization and key business stakeholders to understand strategic sourcing needs and work across the organization to develop business requirements and execution plans
  • Ability to lead contract negotiations for negotiating prices, terms, and conditions
  • Identification of suitable suppliers, and ensure proper due diligence and onboarding processes are followed
  • Analyze spend data/trends to identify recommendations and to provide for support strategic sourcing initiatives
  • Act as a consultant to other teams and personnel, among others, for unusually large or complex strategic procurement.
  • The position requires a full-time work schedule. Full-time is defined as working at least 40 hours per week, plus any additional hours as requested or as needed to meet business needs

  • Able to effectively build relationships with employees at all levels within the organization (front line to executive management).
  • Understanding of contracts and business, legal & financial terms and conditions including business specific requirements

  • Strong analytical skills
