Stroke Program Coordinator - FT

Job Description

Stroke Coordinator organizes and oversees the clinical education ED RN staff in regards to Stroke patients. Assists the Director with planning and implementation of Stroke. Responsible for the operation of the Stroke program at all times. Liaison between ED staff and physicians, responsible for creating the Stroke competency program and RN competency testing, available to staff for problem solving and supervisory issues relating to Stroke Program. On call to the RN staff as needed for consultation & problem solving. Bachelors degree in Nursing Registered Nurse CPR ACLS. One year medical surgical experience. Supervisory experience preferred.
Education:

Required: Graduate of an Accredited School of Professional Nursing

Preferred: BSN

Preferred: Clinical Nurse Specialist

Experience:

Preferred: 5 years of acute care experience

Preferred: Experience in caring for and assessing stroke patients

Preferred: 2 years leadership experience preferred

Experience in coordination, education and clinical pathway development

Licenses/Certificates:
Required: Current professional nursing license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Mexico
Required: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
