Position Summary |
The UNM-Valencia Campusis seeking a Student Success Specialist, Sr. The successful applicantwill have experience supporting student success through wraparound services toinclude, but not limited to: academic advisement/coaching of prospectivetransfer students, financial aid and scholarship support, facilitating academicsuccess workshops, tutoring and resource referral, early alert referrals and specializedoutreach for targeted student groups. The Student Success Specialist Sr. willact as student advocate and provide day-to-day problem solving as necessary onstudent needs and issues. This person will work with staff and faculty toensure student needs are being met. The applicant works as part of a dynamicteam to implement new strategies and procedures specific to UNM Valencia. Thisperson serves as a liaison interacting with internal and externalconstituencies. This person will also track student's academic and overallprogress in the program and services provided to the student. Theindividual will ensure compliance with Federal, State, and University rules,regulations, and policies. Located about 30 milessouth of Albuquerque in rural Valencia county, the University of NewMexico-Valencia Campus is a two-year branch campus of the University of NewMexico which functions as a community college in the region and is designated aHispanic Serving Institution. With an emphasis on teaching excellence,Valencia Campus offers academic transfer programs, technical vocationalprograms, Adult Basic Education, and Dual Credit High School/College courses toValencia and Socorro Counties. The faculty and staff serve a student bodyof over 2,000 credit students per semester. See the Position Description for additional information. |

Minimum Qualifications |
Bachelor's degree; at least 2 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. |
