JOB GOAL:

To administer health services to students and staff according to District policies.

Qualifications:

* High School diploma or equivalent AND a minimum of one of the following:

a. Emergency Medical Technician Level 1 course with a passing grade;

b. Medical Assistant course with passing guide

c. Three credit hour college course in First Aide with a passing grade

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

  1. Prioritize and deliver first aid and emergency care to students and staff according to District policies.
  2. Administer medications per parent consent and District guidelines with an understanding of possible side effects.
  3. Perform special medical procedures (i.e. asthma treatments, diabetes monitoring, injection of epinephrine for severe allergic reactions).
  4. Document student and staff treatments and parent interactions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands and arms, stand, bend or stoop. The employee is frequently required to move about the campuses and to drive to the schools and departments in the District. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Salary Schedule:
$95 per full day and $47.50 per half day

If Registered nurse:

$120 per full day and $60.00 per half day
