Our Client is seeking substitute Special Education Assistant Teachers (AT) with a minimum of one (1) year of experience working with adolescents with special needs. The primary focus of the AT is to assist and enhance the educational process of students with disabilities in both instructional and non-instructional activities.
HOURLY RATE
* $17.00hr. depending on experience, education, availability, and skills of independent contractor.
SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S DESCRIPTION OF THIS OPPORTUNITY
* Provide support to students in the absence of the regularly scheduled classroom or assistant teacher
* Assist with providing a variety of activities for a balanced program of instruction, giving students opportunity to observe, question and * investigate
* Reinforce information following a lesson
* Work with students individually or in small groups in academic studies, basic life skills and other assigned instruction
* Implement behavior modification plans and procedures designed for individual students when necessary
* Maintain confidentiality regarding students
* Maintain positive relationships with all students, school staff, and parents.
* Observe and record students' progress.
* Assist individual or groups of students during activities including lunch and getting children safely on and off bus.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
* Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree
* Substitute Teacher Certificate issued by ISBE
* ParaprofessionalS must have Paraprofessional Certificate issued by ISBE.
* Patience and passion for helping students with academic, social, and behavioral struggles are very important
