JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for trouble shooting, repairing and performing preventative maintenance on all types of vehicles/equipment and hand tools within the Harris Health System fleet to ensure proper performance and safety. Assists in maintaining all permit registrations, waste manifests, and data library of vehicle deficiencies and corrective actions. Aids and monitors the direct work of Automotive Technicians without supervision. Assume supervisory role in the absence of the supervisor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Specialized Training/Licensure: Required: HSG/GED/Valid Texas Driver License. Preferred: ASL Certification and CDL

Work Experience (Years and Area): Minimum of 5 years experience in Auto Maintenance

Equipment Operated: Vehicle, computer, lifts, power tools, jacks, other auto maintenance equipment

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Communication Skills: Writing /Composing: Correspondence, Reports

Other Skills: P.C., MS Word

Work Schedule: Weekends, Flexible, Overtime, Travel, On Call

Other Requirements: Frequent travel between Harris Health System facilities. Ability to work according to specific job assignments, subject to extreme weather conditions. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Must possess solid judgment and a good understanding of the possible consequences of the work performed.
