Listed is the base hiring salary range offered for this position. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors, including but not limited to skills and experience. The salary range listed is just one component of the total rewards/compensation package offered to candidates.
Min = $75,007.120
Mid = $97,509.256

Summary:
The Supervisor Boiler Room is responsible for supervising the operation of the boiler system; operates and maintains power plants, related equipment, and systems throughout the hospital and other YRMC facilities; coaches operators on troubleshooting, operation and improvement initiatives to achieve maximum asset capability; performs facilities maintenance tasks as required.

Responsibilities:
Completes maintenance work orders and preventative maintenance correctly and in a reasonable length of time as demonstrated by inspection; ensures time and materials are recorded according to department standards.

Operates and maintains steam boilers, air compressors, vacuum pumps, centrifugal chillers, absorption chillers, cooling towers, pumps, air handling equipment, water softeners, and other power plant equipment; operates emergency generators under load each month and without load all other weeks in accordance with established procedures; maintains log as demonstrated by audit.

Keeps plant operation shift logs including shift change documentation, equipment failure records, and changeover of equipment records; records appropriate meter, gauge, and temperature; performs inspection of the power plant daily intervals as assigned demonstrated by documentation; responds to temperature adjustment requests and other maintenance requests relating to patient comfort or convenience as evidenced by customer feedback and documentation.

Keeps all areas clean and storage areas clean, uncluttered, and orderly; ensures all tools are securely stored, clean and in proper working condition.

Provides human resource management for area of responsibility including, but not limited to: ensuring appropriate staff are available to meet the needs of the unit, providing input into the selection process, setting clear work expectations and coaching employees as needed for success; interviews, trains, mentors and evaluates work of crew members; makes recommendations for merit increases, time off, disciplinary actions and terminations; implements and interprets hospital and department policies and procedures; coordinates staffing of the Boiler Room to ensure 24 hours per day / 7 days a week coverage; supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs and construction projects; assigns staff and prioritizes projects; assumes responsibility for Department in Directors absence.

Coordinates work with outside contractors for equipment installation and repair projects.
