Supply Chain Development is going into the next phase of a great journey. By gathering the end-to-end supply chain development agenda into one organization, embedding process and the development and management of digital solutions into the business, we create the best preconditions for meeting the future with the right competences and business capabilities. By this we will also create the preconditions to a world class supply chain that enable IKEA to efficiently respond to the ever-changing customer needs. The SCD function includes five areas; Sourcing, Design & Planning, Execution, Intralogistics & Market logistics. Additionally SCD has three assignments to lead and keep together the overarching development in the field of Technology in Supply, Packaging & Identification for total IKEA and the Development Networks to lead collaborative innovation approach around Logistics and Fulfilment. Three support functions will be key to support the whole organization: BN & Portfolio mgmt., Communication and People & Culture. Our mission is to design & secure the preconditions for a world class supply chain, run and improve everyday solutions, keep together and optimize the development and innovation agenda.

The Intralogistics organisation is responsible to establish, lead, support and develop logistics solutions for the various IKEA units that have a logistical and fulfilment component, including the development and innovation agenda of intralogistics at IKEA global. In practical terms, Intralogistics shall lead and educate in creating concepts, processes and solutions for IKEA Handling and Storage as well as to act as centre of expertise for all establishments of logistics units around the globe. The organisation is in strong lead towards a more mechanical and automated goods handling.

About the job

As a Project Leader you are responsible to lead intralogistics projects, reviews, implementations and establishment support. You will also be responsible for securing site management and commissioning for any in-house solution, for a solid investment and moreover, to provide intralogistics expertise.

About the assignment

As the Project Leader you will, among other tasks:

  • Lead Intralogistics projects and reviews by securing the deliverables through the Intralogistics team
  • Lead the Intralogistics existing or new in-house or external supplier System/Solution/Component implementation and its commissioning
  • Lead the development of the logistical setup within an establishment or retrofit project
  • Contribute to the development of the Projects and Implementation department by implementing learnings and developing common ways of working
  • Secure an information and communication flow within each project and through the Intralogistics sub area
  • Facilitate training "camps" for specific target groups like project leaders and other Intralogistics stakeholders
  • Travels are included periodically in this position once we resume the travels, stopped during the pandemic

Qualifications

About you

You have a high interest in technology, digitalization, automatic and robotics. You have a passion for planning and leading projects in a global assignment and a desire to drive and develop the business and yourself to deliver excellent results. You go the extra mile and find new solutions to enable IKEAs journey to become a true Multichannel Retailer. Last but not least, you have a strong interest for supply chain, as well as the strong desire to collaborate and interact with stakeholders.

To succeed in this role, we believe you have:

  • A strong knowledge and understanding of IKEA processes and organizations as well as IKEAs Supply Chain
  • A good understanding of Intralogistics as well as of component implementation and start up
  • A deep knowledge of the Warehousing Concept
  • Capability to identify and capture business opportunities and deliver results by involving and engaging people
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and work within an agile environment, you are experienced and educated in project management
  • Capability to represent IKEA and to be an IKEA ambassador in everything you do and represent IKEA towards external suppliers
  • A passion for Intralogistics and knowledge and understanding of the IKEA processes, organizations and supply chain.
  • Fluency in English
